Houdini Alembic Poly Soup Primitives

Hey there 🙂

We cache our character animation out from Maya as .abc and then load it into Houdini. There we pipe it into an HDA that does some vellum simulation and the all shaders. So now to my problem: By default, the alembic SOP is set to "use poly soups for polygon meshes", but then basically all of my attributes can't be assigned properly. So each time I import an animation, I need to go into the import object and change the poly soup to "no poly soup primitives". It would be super handy if there was a setting for this default parameter behavior!

Hey Nick,

sounds like a reasonable default setting to me. I set this to the default in v1.3.0.11.

If someone prefers another setting by default, I can provide a Prism plugin, which changes the default value of this dropdown.

Thanks! This will save me quite some time (and probably prevent some render errors too) 🙂 BTW it's super nice that you are always so fast and responsive here! Prism really is an awesome piece of software, that helps us out a lot.
