Yes there is. But you need to bring the external files into Prism.
In the Project Browser select an asset or a shot and in the task list in the lower left corner you can rightclick and select 'create external task'. Then you can select an external file or a folder with your media. These files will be referenced in Prism, so they won't get moved or copied. Then the media files will show up in the Project Browser like usual renderings and you can open them in RV or convert them as usual.
That's also very usefull to keep track of video versions created in Premiere, Resolve or other tools in which Prism isn't integrated yet.
