Viewport Background

Hey I've found that while doing layout for a fully animated project I've been going into the project folders to grab the shot thumbnail for the viewport background (those thumbnails are the storyboards)

How hard would it be to automate this process with a button, or maybe automating viewport backgrounds with the shot plate and assigning that plate in the main prism menu?

The trouble may occur when some programs need to associate a viewport background with a camera and others do it separately from that.
