This plugin integrates Prism into Adobe Photoshop.
The plugin has been tested with Photoshop 2023-2026. The currently recommended version that integrates best with Prism is Photoshop 2026.

Setup#

The Photoshop plugin can be installed via the Prism Hub.
Once the plugin has been installed, the Prism-Photoshop UXP plugin needs to be installed as well:
Prism User Settings > DCCs apps > Photoshop > Install UXP Plugin.

Accessing Prism in Photoshop#

Prism is available inside Photoshop from the "Plugins" (1) menu:
Plugins > Prism Pipeline > Prism Pipeline.
The appearing "Prism Menu" window is dockable (2) anywhere in Photoshop.

The Prism Menu window provides access to all Prism tools:
  • save and version up your scene

  • save, version up your scene and add a description/thumbnail

  • export images

  • open the Project Browser

  • open the Prism Settings

Saving Scenefiles#

New scenefile versions can be saved via the Prism Menu or by opening the Project Browser and selecting "Create new version from current" from the context menu in the "Scenefiles" tab.

Importing Images#

To import objects from the Prism project into Photoshop, navigate to a media version in the Project Browser. Right-click on the image and select "Import images...", or simply drag and drop the image into Photoshop.

Exporting Images#

To export an image from Photoshop to the Prism project, select "Export" from the Prism menu. The exported image can then be found in the "Media" tab of the Project Browser.

Frequently Asked Questions#

Why is Prism not loading in Photoshop (UXP Plugin)?

The Prism UXP plugin is only available with Photoshop 2026.

In addition, the "Creative Cloud" needs to be installed on the workstation, as this is where the Prism UXP plugin will be installed.

How to set up Prism-Photoshop (Legacy Plugin)?

The Photoshop plugin can be installed via the Prism Hub. Once the plugin has been installed, the Prism-Photoshop Legacy integration needs to be added to the Photoshop installation folder: Prism User Settings > DCCs apps > Photoshop > Add.

The following path should be selected for the integration: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2025

If multiple versions of Photoshop are installed, the PRISM_PHOTOSHOP_KEY environment variable can be used to specify which version of Photoshop Prism will communicate with. Available keys on your system can be checked in the Windows Registry Editor: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Photoshop.Application*

The key will look like this: Photoshop.Application.170

How to access Prism in Photoshop (Legacy Plugin)?

Prism is available inside Photoshop from the "Scripts" menu: File > Scripts > Prism - 1 Tools.

The appearing “Prism Menu” window is not dockable inside Photoshop.

Alternatively, Photoshop can be launched from the Standalone Project Browser: Options > Photoshop > Connect.
