Import Media#

How to import media files in After Effects?

Media versions can be imported via the Prism menu:

  • Select Import Media….

  • Open Choose… and select one or more shots.

  • Select one of the available media Identifier.

  • Enable the checkbox Add to Current Composition to add media versions to the selected After Effects composition.

  • Select Import.

Hint

The selected media is now added to the composition.

Note

Before using Add to Current Composition, ensure a composition is selected.

Import (Project Browser)#

How to import media files via the Project Browser in After Effects?

Media versions can be imported via the Project Browser:

  • Open the Project Browser.

  • Navigate to any media version.

  • Right-click the media preview and select Import images….

Hint

The selected media is now added to the project.

Check for New Versions#

How to check for new media versions in After Effects?

New media versions can be checked via the Prism menu:

  • Select Check for New Versions….

  • Prism will show a notification pop-up for all outdated media versions.

  • Select Update All to get the latest media versions.

Hint

All media versions are now updated to the latest version.
